My story is one that many women can resonate with. I spent 15 years of working in finance and banking, fitting into corporate structures and masculine standards, while using sizeable bonuses, casual relationships, and retail therapy to cover up a lack of fulfillment.
I lived fully in my mind. Pleasure was a performance, and self-love was short and goal-oriented. I became unhappy and confused.
I soon found myself in an early mid-life crisis and set off on a many-year journey searching, digging, and just trying to figure things out.
It wasn't until I learned to use my senses to tap into my body that I was able to anchor myself in the present moment, and my entire body became more receptive to sensations beyond the typical areas.
